Like all Four Days Marches enthusiasts, we are shocked by the passing of our honorary member Bert van der Lans. For us, Bert was not only the record holder with 71 successfully completed Four Days Marches, but also a former committee member who left a great mark on our association. Bert was active as an organizer within our association and was happy to help with our activities. On the 50th anniversary of our association, he co-wrote the anniversary book and later he surprised the association with a new banner and replicas of the original sheet music of the Four Days Marches March. Bert and the Four Days Marches were inextricably linked.
We will miss Bert and wish his relatives much strength with this loss.
